Urban Baristas is a coffee shop chain in London. They’re Aussie, they love the aussie coffee experience (fun, high-quality and flavourful) and they wanted to shake up the London coffee scene. They started working on selling their coffee to customers at home with a new roastery managing the process end-to-end. 

Urban Baristas needed someone to guide them through the process of developing an e-Commerce store, building online marketing strategies, and engaging their physical store goers to enjoy their coffee at home while they couldn’t be open.

Our Task

We were hired to essentially become the entire marketing outfit for Urban Baristas.

The task was relatively simple. Use current and historic in-store data to recapture revenue from customers no longer visiting in-store post-covid.

Our primary aim was to tell stories, engage and then convert previous and new customers not frequenting physical locations, getting them to purchase coffee subscriptions via a new Urban Baristas website.

"The Urban Baristas team needed a marketing partner to work with their team on the website, their digital ads and approach to engaging customers. We needed to find ways to increase engagement with the least engaged customers they had in-store and drive more revenue for the brand. Post Covid-19 lockdowns, the brand wanted to engage in-person shoppers online - as did everyone - so the market was quite saturated at this time.

Our job was mainly about figuring out where to target customers in a busy market at the right moment. We used their wi-fi data, existing email database and social ads to build a funnel that fed sales of subscriptions on the website. By the end of the campaign we'd seen decent results, but there was a lot more that could have been achieved."

Our Solution

We developed an online marketing strategy using ads, organic content and email that re-engaged users based on the frequency of wifi data usage to identify and target customers.

We then worked on their website to improve conversion rates and the customer journey.

This involved website development, copy writing, brand positioning and customers journey design.

We backed up all our work with content creation for the brand that put their product front and centre, and built them a system that converted customers, but also brought them into the companies own data system so that they could learn more about customer interaction with the brand in-store and online to improve customer satisfaction and service.
