I can’t believe how fast the last five years have gone.
Australian Payroll Association officially opened our doors with our first member on 27 May 2010.
Since that time, we have increased our team by 500% and we now support, train, recruit and consult for more than 1000 businesses, both in Australia and internationally.
Each of our members has a unique combination of employee numbers, payroll technology, payroll team and experience, and it’s a joy to work with all of them. The organisations that we support range from stand-alone payroll to payroll teams of up to 400. Payroll is an exciting place to work in 2015!
In May 2010 there were no nationally accredited payroll qualifications. Five years later we are delivering a Certificate IV in Payroll Administration and Diploma of Payroll Management to hundreds of students around Australia.
We have gone from providing payroll training online to adding classroom payroll training and end of year seminars in major capital cities.
The Australian Payroll Association conference in September 2015 in Sydney looks to be the biggest ever, with over 400 delegates.
Along with my team, we are grateful to be working with some of the most talented payroll professionals in Australia. While we will take some time to reflect this week on what has been achieved over the last five years, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been involved with Australian Payroll Association since May 2010.
To all our members, we thank you for your support and commitment to making payroll a valuable asset in your organisation. To all the payroll suppliers who we work with, thank you for your dedication to the payroll industry to help organisations make the most of their payroll operation.
Thanks to all our qualification and training students. Education in the payroll industry is critical to building your career and we thank you for choosing to be qualified in payroll.
Last, but absolutely not least, I want to thank my amazing team. Everyone working at Australian Payroll Association is driven by our vision to add value to the payroll function and I could not do my job without them. They are the best payroll professionals I’ve ever worked with and I owe them a debt of gratitude for lifting the profile of payroll and allowing our members and clients to turn what is historically seen as an operational task into a business asset.
